Configure Knowledge Base Preferences
The Knowledge Base's Permission is not working when I tried to set it's article body's permission from Personal to Public. After I set permission to Public it's settings kept on reverting back to Default.
A: Are your 'Default' permissions the same as your 'Personal' and/or 'Public' permissions. If this is the case, the application will be correctly determining that the 'Public' permissions you have set for the article are the same as your 'Default' permissions.
To check, you need to view your preferences.
- Click 'Settings' (top right corner). - Click 'General Preferences' on the 'Personal Settings' row (the first row).
Scroll down this list and look for the following preferences:
Default view group: Default edit group: Default assigned to group: Default owner group: Default admin group:
Default personal view group: Default personal edit group: Default personal assigned to group: Default personal owner group: Default personal admin group:
Default public view group: Default public edit group: Default public assigned to group: Default public owner group: Default public admin group:
When you edit (and submit) a KnowledgeBase article, the Permissions radio buttons (Default, Personal, Public, Other) will set the permissions fields to these values.
When you view or edit an article, the application will compare the current permissions for the article against your preferences and determine which (if any) currently apply.
