System Requirements for BrowserCRM

The Browser CRM Server software can be installed on your own server or hosted and managed by us.

General server requirements

  • PHP
  • MySQL
  • Apache or other web server

This means BrowserCRM can run on Linux, FreeBSD, Mac and Windows (a Server or typical Desktop). If you do not yet have a PHP/MySQL environment, there are many options:

  • get an account with one of the Recommended Hosting Companies
  • download and install the free WAMP for Windows
  • download and install the free MAMP for Mac
  • download and install the free VMWare Player and get our VMWare Debian image with BrowserCRM ready to go

BrowserCRM version 5.2 will require

However the current absolute requirement is for

  • PHP 4.3.x or 5.x or later.
  • MySQL 3.53.x or 4.1.x or later.

PHP Modules

PHP can be installed with many optional modules. BrowserCRM only requires the PHP module php-mysql. BrowserCRM may use the module php-curl if it is installed. These modules are in almost any PHP default configuration.
